Learning for Children

Bolivia

Mis Dinos is an interactive web app designed to introduce children aged 7–10 to prehistoric animals that may have lived in Bolivia. The experience combines educational content, interactive maps, games, and custom illustrations to make paleontology engaging for children, regardless of their previous interest in the subject.

The

Challenge

The challenge was to turn a complex subject into an experience that felt intuitive, entertaining, and meaningful for children. Every design decision had to consider how children in this age group read, interact, learn, and respond to visual and audio feedback.

We also needed to create an experience that worked seamlessly across desktop and tablet devices while balancing educational accuracy with an approachable, playful visual language.

Our

Solution

We developed the visual system from scratch, drawing inspiration from fossils, rocks, textures, and geological formations. Typography, illustration style, color, iconography, and interaction patterns were informed by visual research and a small study conducted with children in the target age group.

The experience was tested with more than 15 children and their parents, allowing us to refine the interface based on real feedback. We also collaborated with Bolivian paleontology experts and reviewed relevant literature to ensure the educational content was accurate and engaging.

The final experience combines interactive dinosaur and marine animal profiles, taxonomy, anatomical maps, educational games, and an interactive map of fossil sites across Bolivia.
